Male-and-female-greater-kudu-

The greater kudu (Tragelaphus strepsiceros) has been a target for hunters for many years, providing excellent meat and one of the most impressive trophies available from the African bush. It is a major prey of lions, leopards, wild dogs and spotted hyenas. Despite this, the kudu is flourishing. Happy to live near human habitation, it is something of a pest, raiding crops and eating fruit, vines, flowers and herbs.

It prefers to stay where there is some cover, rather than out on the open plains, and in the dry season it is almost always found beside rivers where there is thicker growth.
